FAQ's

1. What exactly is an MC Licence and why do I need it for multi-trailer trucks?

An MC (Multi Combination) licence authorises you to drive the largest and most complex heavy vehicles, including B-doubles, road trains, and multi-trailer combinations. It is the highest level of heavy vehicle licence in Australia. It’s essential for drivers aiming to work in long-haul freight, mining logistics, and heavy haulage sectors in Perth and across Australia.

2. How long does the course take to complete?

The MC Licence course is a 10-hour program completed over 2 days, including 8 hours of on-road training (5.5 hours on day 1 and 2.5 hours on day 2) plus theory assessment.

3. What happens if I don't pass the assessment?

If you don’t pass the assessment, you can book a re-assessment. The cost is $1,100 on weekdays and $1,200 on weekends or public holidays. If you need extra support before retaking it, additional practice lessons are available at $220/hour on weekdays and $230/hour on weekends or public holidays. We recommend taking advantage of these sessions to build confidence and address any specific gaps before attempting the re-assessment.

4. Do I need to bring my own vehicle?

No, we provide all training vehicles. Our fleet includes properly maintained multi-combination vehicles that meet DoT standards for training and assessment purposes.

5. What if I have a medical condition?

Please disclose any medical conditions that might affect your training before booking. This will be referred to DoT for approval, and you may need to undergo additional medical checks.

6. What if I need extra support during the course?

If you need extra support, whether it’s been a while since you last studied, English isn’t your first language, or you need help with literacy or numeracy, we’re here to assist. During the application and enrolment process, we’ll identify any additional support needs and work with you to provide appropriate assistance. Our aim is to create a supportive learning environment that gives every student a fair chance to succeed.
